Kassie+Derek | V. Sattui Winery Wedding

We’re hard at work here at the studio this season! Shooting weddings. Editing weddings. Falling all over ourselves with all the gorgeousness and smiles we get to witness on a daily basis. Today’s feature is the wonderful and sweet Kassie and her loving, devoted Derek, who said their I Do’s recently at V. Sattui Winery. (As I call it: my ‘alma matter’ –  this is where I married my hubby almost 20 years ago! It’s safe to say I have a soft place in my heart for my Sattui weddings. ❤️) An absolutely beautiful day, designed to feel like an english country garden both outside in the courtyard, and inside the barrel room. Take a look!

Loved Kassie’s shoes! “Mrs. Lawson – Est. 05.19.18”. :-)

Even shooting at a venue for the dozenth time, I love to look for and find new secret spots for photos each and every time. This pathway somehow beckoned, feeling absolutely perfect for K & D’s garden theme.

Kassie’s grandmother had made it a tradition in her life to buy the wedding dresses for each of her granddaughters as they got married. Sadly, she passed away a few years ago, well before Kassie’s wedding planning began. And so Kassie chose the next best thing to include her grandmother in her day: she wore her grandmother’s actual dress. Just a few customized touches were added, including this lace ‘jacket’ overlay, and tradition was preserved. Here is Kassie, her mother, and a picture of her grandmother, wearing this gorgeous family gown.

Wedding trend alert: Acrylic Signage! K & D ordered these gorgeous hand-made signs on Etsy, and decorated the day with them. Added tip: they’re pretty, but lightweight, so don’t forget to think about wind!

The barrel room of V. Sattui, transformed. With soft draping and enough greenery and flowers to bring the garden indoors, it was truly gorgeous. Amazing design and installation by Carli Rose Events and Valley Flora.

The swan (Kassie) cake (Derek’s nickname for her), and the cutting cake. When in doubt, have more cake!

Congratulations Kassie & Derek! xo
